Website maintenance and security are the foundation of all our services. We’ll allocate the agreed time each month to ensure these essentials are taken care of first. After that, you might want to focus on developing a section of your online shop, updating your site copy, or optimising and uploading a batch of images. Perhaps you’re looking for an SEO campaign to promote a new product or ongoing site development. The choice is yours—you can pick and mix based on your current needs.

Simply open a support ticket, and we’ll get the task done.

We can also act as your point of contact for other IT suppliers or contractors. If you don’t have the time or technical interest to integrate your website with a CRM, marketing software, or similar systems, we’ll handle it for you as part of your team.

At the end of each month, we’ll send you a detailed report of all the work completed and discuss your initiatives for the next month. This way, you can clearly see how your budget is being invested.

There are no long-term contracts to worry about. You pay by direct debit for the upcoming month, and while we hope you’ll stay with us long-term, you can cancel at any time.

Can you choose to use any service?

Yes! Just pick and choose what you want each month and let us know your priorities for that month, and we’ll make sure they are done.

Are my priorities fixed for the month?

No. While we will set time aside to complete each of your items, we realise that things can change during the month. Just open a support ticket, and we’ll resolve the new issue.

Do hours/days carry over?

No, sorry. We protect you, our other clients, and ourselves by forecasting and planning based on active plan hours for the month. This ensures we have resources available when needed. You will see what hours you are using each month in the report, so it’s a good idea to make sure you use them all to get the best value for your business.

Why do you subtract some hours for routine maintenance?

All the work we do on your site is based on the premise that your site is safe and secure, with both the core and all plugins kept updated. This is checked several times a week, and changes are made as necessary. Depending on the size of your site, we allocate a set time for these tasks along with a contingency for overruns. We will inform you of this at the start of the service.

Can you set up all my SEO with this service?

Depending on the scale of your SEO needs, yes. The caveat is that good SEO is a system, not a project, and takes considerable time to do correctly, so an hour here and there won’t really make much difference to organic SEO.

However, for one-off campaigns like project launches with PPC or landing page launches, this service is ideal. We’ll discuss all this with you during onboarding to design your base plan.

What type of tasks are excluded from this service?

None really! As long as you have enough hours in your plan for that month, we will complete the task requested. If there is an issue with the request or we think the project you require will take many hours, we’ll liaise with you to give you a fixed price quote for the work.

Will you redesign my website under this type of service?

Not really. While we can update, develop, add pages, and change your site as we go along, a redesign needs a set budget and timescale to complete as a one-off project. We are happy to provide a quote for this.

Does the contract include licences for all plugins and themes?

No, commercial plugins, components, and extensions that require a software licence for updates will incur charges based on the developer’s cost.

Does this service include website hosting?

No, but we can host your site at a competitive price as a separate service. Including the hosting price in a retainer like this would make it appear too expensive, so we separate this out.

Is there a contract length?

As we offer a pay-as-you-go, month-to-month service, there is no set contract length. However, we do require a commitment to an initial three-month period for the setup of your website. This is because auditing your site, transferring it to our servers (if requested), and configuring it on our maintenance system requires significant time and resources. We need to incur these costs to provide you with the best possible service.

We hope that you will find the benefits of our service outweigh the initial set-up costs and continue with us beyond the three-month period. If not, you are free to leave without any further obligations.

When can I get support?

We endeavour to respond to your support ticket promptly and schedule your task accordingly. For updates, changes, and repairs, we prioritise each during our core office hours, which are 06:00 – 18:00 CET Monday to Thursday, and 06:00 – 14:00 CET on Fridays.

We understand the unpredictable nature of business; therefore, outside these hours, we remain committed to providing support as swiftly and effectively as possible, on a best endeavour basis.

Although we work CET time, we try to align with UK Bank Holidays where possible.

How is support contact handled?

We try to maintain all contact by support ticket so that there is an audit trail for each account. You can log in to your account to open or respond to tickets, or just send an email to help@computancy.co.uk, and this will automatically open a ticket for you.

Responding to any emails in this trail will also keep the ticketing system updated.

Of course, if you want our advice for any IT service, just pick up the phone and we’re happy to talk it through!

Can you set up my external services like MailChimp or our company CRM, etc.?

Yes, most services that link to your website should not be a problem.

Updating DNS settings for services like Brevo or MailChimp is also within scope. Unless we set up your email with our hosting, we won’t get involved in setting up your actual email accounts with Microsoft or Google as they are too complex to monitor remotely. However, changing the MX records with your domain DNS is covered.

The best thing is to chat through what you may require during onboarding. Over the years we’ve worked with many diverse systems, so can help with many.

We will normally require you to set us up with a company email address, such as dev@yourcompany.com, and then set up an admin account with your suppliers website so we can quickly access their system on your behalf if there is a problem. Otherwise, it takes too long to get login credentials.

Can you log in to my computer to fix it?

No. We have remote control software and can log in to your PC to help you connect to your website backend or similar, but not for PC support. We’re not Apple aficionados either, so will struggle to help you with more than the basics on that platform. Trying to connect to your Android or Apple phone is akin to pulling teeth, so we stay well clear of that—sorry!

I don’t like all the technical questions when I sign up for a service…

We can help by becoming part of your team and handling all the technicalities for you. We will effectively be the middleman and manage all of this on your behalf.

We can also research and evaluate different systems for you if you find this gives you a better understanding of the market. Of course, if the system you are looking at is very specialist and bespoke, we won’t be able to offer much guidance.
